Until the Morning Sun (Sun #1)
I don't really know where to start except to say that a few months ago I thought my life was pretty simple. I was a librarian in a high school with some great kids. I didn't have a lot of family—my dad died about eight years ago—but my mom and I were really close. I wasn't ecstatically happy, but I was content. Sure, it would have been nice to have been in love, but most 27-year-old single people would say that.

I guess you could say I lived a normal life with normal beliefs. And that included the beliefs that vampires did not exist, there was no such thing as magic, people did not come back from the dead, and the likelihood that I would fall profoundly and intensely in love was ridiculously slim.

I was wrong.
Funny and greatly entertaining! Aeva was used to her boring but enjoyable life as a high school librarian. Then her life is turned upside down after a few unusual events including seeing her supposedly dead father at the mall and electrically zapping a overly handsy date. The next thing she knows, she is finding out vampires are real, she isn't human and nothing is ever the same. Now she has to learn about her own powers and a new life, all the while fighting an attraction to a man she knows will break her heart.

I loved Aeva! She had a down to earth way of responding to everything thrown her way. I loved her sarcasm and inner conversations. When she first finds herself in danger and Grey comes to rescue her, her response had me laughing out loud. "I was really starting to think I felt so safe with him because he was really touched in the head."

This book is funny and light but it takes a more serious turn towards the end. A terrible thing happens to Aeva, leaving her mentally shaken. I really felt for her as she struggled to come to terms with what happened. Grey is there for her and is the pillar of strength she needs and comes to rely heavily on.

The ending? Holy cliffhanger! I don't like cliffhangers. I need to know what is going to happen. I can't wait for the next one.
