Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?

Neat freak lab tech, Lily Banner lives her life as any ordinary human. She’s dedicated to her work and loves to hang out with her friends at Dante’s Circle, their local bar. When she discovers a strange blue dust at work she meets a handsome stranger holding secrets – and maybe her heart. But after a close call with a thunderstorm, she may not be as ordinary as she thinks.

Shade Griffin is a warrior angel sent to Earth to protect the supernaturals’ secrets. One problem, he can’t stop leaving dust in odd places around town. Now he has to find every ounce of his dust and keep the presence of the supernatural a secret. But after a close encounter with a sexy lab tech and a lightning quick connection, his millennia old loyalties may shift and he could lose more than just his wings in the chaos.

Warning: Contains a sexy angel with a choice to make and a green-eyed lab tech who dreams of a dark-winged stranger. Oh yeah, and a shocking spark that’s sure to leave them begging for more.

I'm a big fan of this author so I was very excited to read the beginning of this new series.  This series centers around a group of friends who hang out at a bar called Dante's and experienced a bit of a freak lightening storm and walked away with some unique side effects.  This first story is about Lily and Shade.  A very sweet and sexy read.

Lily is quite the Type A/ OCD girl.  This type of person can typically be pretty irritating but the author wrote her very endearing.  She's super aware of her quirks and knows she is high maintenance.  But her friends love her and appreciate her for who she is.  In the end, we learn that her "quirks" are just very special qualities and bi-products of her true self.  Lily is a lab technician who is working on testing some mystery "dust".  She meets Shade along the way and very quickly falls in love with him.  He's just as drawn to her and totally adores all her qualities.

Shade is an angel.  Not a heavenly angel.  Just a being from a special race of Angels.  Hes a warrior and quite fierce.  He is called before his council and it is brought to his attention that some of the dust from his angel wings some how mysteriously fell from him and was found and ultimately obtained by a research lab.  This is a huge breach of security and he is ordered to go and meet Lily and do anything and everything possible to get the dust sample back so no one ever finds out about them.  However, as soon as he meets her their connection is instant and very strong.

They fall for each other and he doesn't care about anything else but protecting her, as strange things start to happen and he worries for her safety.  At some point he ends up having to let her know what he is and how she is different as well.  (I won't spoil it by telling you what she is).  He and his best friend Ambrose, another sexy warrior angel, work together to protect her as well as help her friends from Dante's learn about the strange lightening storm and how it has affected Lily and how it will potentially cause some new changes in them as well.  This is all very interesting and exciting to look forward to new stories about each of them.  Ambrose has his own demons (no pun intended) to deal with and I'm certain there will be some future insight in to him too.

Shade discovers Lily is his "other half" and is scared for when she realizes that his initial goal was to basically use her to get the dust back.  He doesn't care about that anymore and knows there is trouble among the council of his race.  Inevitably she finds out and is very hurt.  There is hell to pay and they have to work through some problems of trust but their love is strong and their supportive friends are fierce and loyal.

Lots of sweet romantic moments and YES, some hot and steamy love scenes too.  I laughed out loud many times reading this.  I love that in a story!!  Everything about this cute couple fits perfectly and its a fabulous start to a fun new series.  Don't miss this first installation!  I can't wait for the next one...
