Wowza!  This is a HOT book.  I have read a lot of BDSM genre stories.  Some mild, some more hardcore in nature.  Some I could really connect with the characters and their love story as well as enjoy the steamier parts also.  This particular book I feel I was a little less connected to.  The author did a good job describing things and exploring what the H/H were feeling but for me Jackson and Rena seemed so different.  I don't know that I would have ever put the two of them together.  Nevertheless they embarked on their D/s relationship and ultimately fell in love.  Which ultimately is how it should be!

They seemed, especially Rena, pretty conflicted a lot of the time.  But when they would play together it was a very different thing.  I personally didn't relate to their type of play.  Lots of name calling and dominance in a way that was not loving to me.  But understand, that is purely a personal opinion.  The author has the amazing talent to write these very raw and edgy sex scenes and has every right to do so.  I did understand Rena's insecurities and uncertainty about being submissive again.  She didn't trust easily and it took her a while to really feel comfortable giving herself that way again even though she really wanted to.

The story was action packed with a lot of information.  I haven't read the previous books so I could tell I was missing a little back story here and there.  The secondary characters seem to have some interesting stories to tell!  Hot play/sex scenes!  Just sometimes a bit much for me.  Its more hardcore than I usually gravitate to.  But well written and if you like that dynamic then you will enjoy this book!  The mystery and intrigue and the Villain (didn't see that one coming) in the book added to the layers of the story as well as Jackson's determination to win Rena over.  She was stubborn and headstrong but somehow they had a deep connection and managed to work their way through the complexities of their issues and find their way in their relationship. They had to work together to figure out how to deal with the threat to them and yet at the same time work to understand each other as well.

Lots of push and pull in this sexy tale but not boring, thats for sure!  I will have to read more of the series to get a better feel for all the characters.  Quite the hot and spicy ending and simply enjoyable all around for all you BDSM junkies!
