Title: Moon Island (A Vampire for Hire Novel #7)
Author: J.R. Rain

Genre: Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy mix (Vampire/werewolf/other)

Six years ago federal agent Samantha Moon was the perfect wife and mother, your typical soccer mom with the minivan and suburban home. Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire.

Now in MOON ISLAND (Vampire for Hire #7), Samantha Moon is hired to look into the mysterious drowning of a super-rich hotel tycoon. The death occurred exactly one year ago, at the family’s annual retreat on a private island in the Pacific Northwest. Now, as the family gathers again, Samantha Moon is asked to find a ruthless killer—all while a massive storm bears down upon the small island.

But there’s another storm brewing upon Skull Island, a storm of the supernatural kind. Sam is about to come face-to-face with evil incarnate...a monster who will stop at nothing to possess her completely—mind, body and soul—and destroy all that she loves.

Review:

When it is Vampire for Hire being reviewed, you can't really compare it to many things, the whole story of this mother of 2 kids trying to live her life after becoming a vampire (and not a Count Dracula type) defies any quick description. Samantha Moon is an ex-FBI agent and I have followed her through every book from her first fumbling efforts to the truly awesome person/vampire she is now. Sit back, hold on and enjoy the best vampire going. This time she meets something that can actually kill her and it is not a slam dunk, kinda hated the ending but it does line things up for at least a few more books in the series. Make no mistake this is 5 Star reading.

Note:

This series has been a Top 10 on Amazon since its inception and it is really a continuing story, I suggest for maximum reading enjoyment (unless you can't wait like me) to use the following reading order:

Samantha Moon: First Four Novels

Samantha Moon Rising: Including Books 5, 6, and 7 in the Vampire for Hire Series: Vampire Dawn, Vampire Games, Moon Island, Plus the Short Story "Teeth" (APR/May 2013 Release Date)
