Length: 231 pages ebook

When Anne and Neil leave on a one-week holiday hoping to reconcile after a two-year separation, little do they know that destiny has other plans for them. Their discovery of human bones and a bejeweled cross in the hollow of a tree open the door to the supernatural realm and the anguished life of Genevieve, a nun from medieval England.

Can Anne save her relationship and help Genevieve her eternal rest?

The twists and turns in this paranormal tale keep the reader guessing up to the end and weave themselves together into a quest to rekindle love.

This book intrigued me from the blurb. It sounded really mysterious. A good ghost story. That is exactly what was given too.
Stefanescu was able to keep a good balance between past and present. That impresses me because it is very relevant to a reader that a certain balance is kept when time jumping.
There were a few places were I knew what was going to happen or could guess where the story would lead. These places were very well described and added to the story in a  positive way.
Neil and Anne got on my nerves. There wasn't allot of believable dialog between them and the characters of the present time. There were many times that I thought Neil was under a spell of some sort because his dialog was ...well...sappy.
Overall this was a pretty good read. I believe this is Stefanescu's first work in English ( she is from Romania) and she has done a pretty good job of it.  This is why I love new authors. They may have a few rough edges but they have the potential to grow in their craft.
The end seems to leave open a for a follow up to Shadows of the Past and I do look forward to seeing the characters grow along with the story line.
