When a designer drug rocks the small town of New Brighton and makes junkies spontaneously combust, Paramedic Jayda Swenson suspects the super-methamphetamine her husband created before his death has resurfaced. She’s worked hard to create a safe, tidy life and put her meth-ravaged past behind her. Jayda has a secret to keep and her new life is the perfect cover. But when tourists start disappearing and charred body remains crop up, Jayda learns the hard way that this drug doesn't just fry people’s minds—it also fuels demons.

Luckily, the sexy new medic, Ben Tierney, is a demon-hunter in disguise, except his demon-busting powers don’t work so well anymore. Until he realizes Jayda’s touch can refuel the energy he’s lost—a touch she’s not so willing to dish out. Now Jayda finds herself wedged between an ancient demon that knows her past and her secret, and Ben, who has plenty of secrets of his own. Fighting to hold onto her carefully controlled life, Jayda must decide if she’ll let Ben help her defeat the demons who threaten to infect the town by the 4th of July—even if it means exposing her true self and losing everything. Again.

I thoroughly enjoyed Blood of Isis.  I have to admit, that two of my absolute favorite subjects are Greek Mythology & Egyptology. When I read books that have added a paranormal twist to these subjects, I’m in love! Lol. And not only did Blood of Isis do that, it was also fast paced and suspenseful. It was a great read! Jayda was amazing, some Heroines are a little too stubborn sometimes, but Jayda’s character was just the right amount of cautious, when it came to her relationship with Ben and other factors as well. Yes, she did seem to find herself in odd situations, but she was just a magnet, you’ll have to read it find out why, lol.
When she finds out that her crazy addicted ex-husband’s designer Meth is out in the streets again, she tries to find who else knew of the formula. Little did Jayda and Ben know that the Meth dealers and the Demon Ben was hunting down, where one and the same.
Blood of Isis is actually a pretty crazy story, but crazy in the good way, were you’re just like turning the pages to see what else is going to pop up, lol. Now, is it just me, or are bathroom scenes always THE BEST. I guess it’s because the characters just can’t wait long enough to make it anywhere else, that’s it a rush and ravage situation. All I have to say about that is, I LOVE IT! Though I will say, no one has beaten the Vishous & Jane bathroom scene for me yet, but Jayda & Ben are close enough. lol
Great read, I definitely recommend it!

Ugly. It’s the only word to describe my upbringing. It drove my need to capture every moment of beauty I could find. A glimpse of a mother’s love. A feather floating in the breeze. A ray of sunshine emerging on a rainy day.  And then there was her, Eliza Quinn, she signified everything I didn’t deserve. She showed me more beauty than I ever thought possible. And I took it all, despite knowing I was going to leave her, and never come back.  Leaving her five years ago was my biggest mistake, and my greatest regret. Now I need to make amends. I thought leaving her was the hardest thing I’d ever have to do, but that was before I knew I had to win her back.Add to Goodreads
