Women are disappearing, and NYC police investigator Laurie Cole is sure Alex Volman knows something about it. Unfortunately, he's not talking -- that's part of the territory when your family tree is loaded with magic and warlocks.

But when Alex learns that the perpetrator has something even worse up his sleeve, he can't stay silent. He'll help Laurie, but she'll have to give as much as she gets.

One night. One ritual. Passion can change everything.

To be honest ( and thats what I'm suppossed to do) I liked it and I didn't. I really wish it wasn't so short. I would have liked to have seen more character development and more of the relationship develop. I understand they were on a time limit themselves and racing the clock. It could have been a wonderful stand alone novel I think. It had the bones for a great book and just left me feeling that it was one foot in the grave.

The idea around Wicked Nights is great.  An evil warlock out to get all sorts of power and a good warlock out to save the day, and stuck in the middle is an innocent just needed another fifty pages spread out here and there.  Things moved way too fast for me in this one.  As a novella it can be difficult to give enough development to keep things "real" for me, but I have read ones that I really enjoyed.  This one didn't quite cut it for me in that department.  I just kept thinking that no sane person would jump into any relationship that fast!  I just couldn't get into the story or characters this time.

Although the storyline was not bad, I did not connect with any character in the book. I think to me, the plot was too complicated for a novella. I didn't care for the characters or the way they interacted with each other. I think if it could of been longer and had more put into it, it would've been a very interesting read.

Reading the blurb about this story peeked my interest and I was excited to read what the author had in store for the characters. Despite it having a great plot line and a warlock who seemed very delicious (who wouldn't love a man who is tall, dark, handsome, successful and through in a little mystery) the story seemed to move quickly without developing the depth that I needed to satisfy me. I kept coming back to the story hoping that I would learn more or that more details would be developed, but it never panned out. I really felt that Alex and Laurie came together too quickly and that she accepted the situation and what needed to be done so easily that it lost its charm. Perhaps what threw me off the most was it was never explained what was it about Laurie that made Alex have such a strong connection to her that is seemed magical. As I said earlier I really did like the characters but I felt that they were not given the chance to be fully developed and the situations could have been more in-depth.

Great story idea just not enough there to fulfill my reading needs. I’m one that loves reading novellas or shot stories but they have explained well for me to like them. This story has so much to it; I just felt like the author could have let her imagination follow and took everyone deeper into the story of the villain, ritual and main characters. As it stands now I feel like I am missing too much from each. The sad part is I loved the story idea and characters, so I really felt like I totally missed out on something that could have been great. You just don’t find many warlock’s PNR now days.
